OrilliaMatters 14I must agree with those who want to keep the Pirate ship...however, if it is in fact, even larger than the one pictured ...I would suggest you cut it down by at least half the size...bigger does not always mean better ! Perhaps then , our city staff might open their hearts (and use some brain cells, if they possess any) and allow it to stand for those few days ! I know a lot of the people who use the Sharing Place, and they need all the help they can get ...so ...get lost you Scrooges (I know...wrong holiday )

OrilliaMatters 8congratulations ...I guess . because of this restaurants high prices, elderly pensioners like myself cannot afford to enter their hallowed doors ...I will continue to go to George's ,Kelsey's, Swiss Chalet, and the others of their ilk who give a good meal at reasonable prices. (go to George's for breakfast and get their Eggs benedict ...you won't find better ones in the out-priced restaurants !

OrilliaMatters 13yes we definitely need more housing ...problem is...these developers are NOT intersted in low cost housing ...they want the most for the least ! ( I live on Bond St., a nice quiet , narrow 2 lane only street where a very few actually do park on the street , but those that do cause havoc to other vehicles driving by ...I can't imagine how many accidents will occur with cars trying to be first to get around a parked car.

Man's lengthy battle with city over backyard rink comes to an end
OrilliaMatters 10thank heavens my kids grew up in a child-friendly town ...my husband built a rink in our front yard , and put up a fence on 3 sides [the front of the house was the 4th side] ....he worked the 3-11 pm shift and flooded the rink each night when he got home... my kids plus the neighbour kids learned to skate there ...pushing a chair in front ...the good old days when you could do as you wanted on your own property as long as it didn't hurt anyone.
