Orillia tenant wins ruling in dispute over Barrie Road 'home'

Two names known in Orillia as slum lords. I am glad that these two got what was coming to them.

Orillia has to start clearing the entire snowbank instead of just half. Doing half the job still makes it dangerous.

Since when is there "free" garbage collection? We pay for the tags thru taxes, and we only get 20 tags per year. Not enough for 26 weeks of garbage collection, so we either skip 6 weeks or have to buy the extra tags. If the City wants to have free garbage collection, allow us to put out 1 bag of garbage with no tag every 2 weeks.

Here is an idea. If some people are worried about the safety of children in schools why not have election sites at Rotary place, the rec centre, Orillia Square Mall and all of the churches. The kids have enough PA days throughout the school year and to add on the amount of snow days I am sure Council can find another alternative than schools so we can vote.

"The policy for snow bank height is no more than 60 centimetres and when banks are cleared, they are fully cleared."Excuse me? Snow banks cleared when they reach 60CM can you please explain when all snowbanks are more than 60CM and have not been cleared.Snow banks fully cleared? I don't think so. Taking half a snow bank and leaving the other half at original height is not taking the entire snow bank. Who are you trying to fool?"There are more plows than operators, said Remm, adding it would be "rare" for all 10 plows to be on the roads at the same time. "Would it make sense to have all plows on the road at the same time to clean the town instead of one or two plows and doing a half a job?

Why does Orillia need a $650,000 grater for snow removal? Doesn't Orillia have over 20 plows to do that specific job? If the plows actually put their blades down to scrap pavement, then there is no need for a grater. The City could have used that $650,000 to put into removing all snowbanks and having clear sidewalks.

Reader2023, what roads in Orillia are gravel or dirt that need grating? To repair roads, you need paving equipment not a grater.

This was aired on the Barrie news last night (Friday, February 20)

My question is this. If you are all about not wasting and electric this and that, are you going to put in charging stations for electric vehicles?

The segment on the news last night said that the cardboard was over the legal size of 30" so of course the recycling truck would not pick it up.Now that CTV Barrie aired this last night, Emterra will be picking it up.I take all my cardboard to the recycling that is free. I find it easier to take the bigger boxes myself then try and make it that the recycling truck will take it.
It's not a mall, but instead it is a plaza trying to be a mall. I don't see a big name store in the mall. Sorry CT, and No Frill's, you are just a neighbor to the plaza.
