GuelphToday 3Why not just give everyone who whines, a blank cheque? How much more are the tax payers expected to pay for? A dare say that a vast number of us gen X'rs didn't have air. We opened windows, used fans and slept nude with no covers. The delicate flowers of today have such a staggering sense of entitlement and they are pandered to like I've never see before. Just give them all blank cheques and stop dragging it out. I'm so disgusted that I can't make any of this make any sense of it. To start, if you smoke, drink, do drugs or anything else thats socially unacceptable, no special treats for you. Get your life in order and then check in again for a review.

GuelphToday 3What about average Joe Public with a young family trying buy a house. Does he have access to affordable housing as well? The perceived 'value' of a property seems to change without warning which is already crooked but I'd hope that the element of the population keeping the shelters in business, aren't getting all the opportunities when they already don't have an income except what the taxpayers bear.

GuelphToday 5Is the Elora Quarry still operating under Covid guidelines? Every summer since Covid, the Gorge opens well after the May long weekend and places ridiculous limits on attendance. Throughout my entire GenX childhood, it was almost a right of passage to line up on the road at the Gorge or get dropped at the gate by our parents and walking in. Most times I pass by, there's maybe 25 to 30 cars in the lot. I've never seen it full but oddly enough, even with there are less than 10 cars, there are up to 5 people working between security and the booth. This attraction has been so underutilized since Covid and has never come back as the popular spot it used to be. I spoke with people who live a block away and tried to walk in. They were denied entry and had to go online to purchase an entry pass. I'm pretty sure not all kids have access to funds on their phone. Why not open the beach and trails up again like in the past. Maybe the number of security could be reduced??

GuelphTodayIt's just not fair that people face charges if they leave their own property empty. Now, it seems that every empty building is at risk of being trashed or burned down by the street dwellers. When do people need to be responsible for themselves? If the taxpayers are continuously going to foot the bill for housing and living expenses, the govt should reopen all the institutions that were closed when it was decided that the residents would be better off outside. Wouldn't it be better to house these people in one place where they can eat, sleep, do their drugs and have medical right on site? All the bandaid fixes that keep getting opened and added are doing nothing to end the problem. All they're doing is facilitating the lifestyle.
