I am a renter. I am not a homeowner being like 'no more homes now I have mine'. But who is this type of housing for? These rushed subdivisions have no longevity, they are car-dependent communities yet a lack of parking and places to put cars. They are socially isolating, not great environmentally, not really affordable.... They are hard to age in (as they are often built narrow with lots of stairs), they are hard to be a starter home at the price point.. so who are they for? Is this what the city residents want? Is this what the mayor wants to help meet the housing numbers Ford is aiming at? does it get us in the "good books"? Its confusing for me. Im curious more so how this is decided on, and is it like the TEMU version of a home. Build it cheap and quick and not your future problem when the seams come undone? What happens to these sprawls when demand drops. They are not desirable.... This really feels like building it to do someone else a favor, not the citizens here.
