The purchase from Saab is a good start, but what about the Gripen?Seems to me, it fits our needs, provides jobs, and is far more useable in Canada than the F35.With the F35, we have to ask for permission to fly it, from the US, and they will only sell us the stripped down version. We don't need the super stealthy, and we for sure don't need or want, the cost, of the F35, which, doesn't like cold weather.
This has been an issue for decades. I see several comments about 2 tier. We have had 2 tier for years, and for the most part, 2nd tier costs you nothing. Using Lifelab as an example.Do you really want a nanny state? I guess not.But thank your lucky stars that you are not American, where you are on your own as far as healthcare goes.
Monkey see, Monkey do. comes to mind. While parents have their noses in cell phones all the time, what do you expect?Personally, I have never felt a need to follow social media at ALL. No twitter, no Facebook on my to do list. I don't think I care a rats behind. And I don't think I miss much.
Get out and vote, for what you believe. Pay attention to the promises, most of which never come true. As an example, for you that malign Doug Ford at every opportunity. Remember McGuinty. 17 promises, all broken within his first month in office.NO government is perfect, but sitting around and not voting, doesn't solve anything.
As a retiree, who held 4 skilled trades certificates, I retired at 55.I was never in a union either. I think what it comes down to today, is work ethic, and not wanting to work outside in the cold, or getting your hands dirty.Your degree in Art History, or several others, is useless when I comes to making money, or the satisfaction of a job well done. The last year I worked in a trade as a welder, my T4 said $196,000.00So think about that kids.
I'm afraid the horse has left the barn. It would be tough to take back what you've already given.I recall the singer "Pink" has barred her children from social media, and cell phones. That gives them a chance to see the real world, like us codgers did. Remember playing outside till the street light came on? And getting muddy jumping in puddles, and games like tag, red rover, road hockey, and like that. In my "hood" there are a fair number of kids, but they are never outside playing, or exploring the real world. My kids did, and 40 years later, they retained the skills they learned, from me, their Mom, and their grandparents. How to camp, do woodwork, and even weld.
I'd suggest, if you don't like Ontario, or this budget, ask yourself where would you rather be?You might pick another province, which by the way, the living standards, and especially health care, are much worse. Most other provinces have far longer wait times, fewer hospitals that offer even close to the same services. And oh by the way, in most there is no such thing as ODSB, or it's equivalent.Think about the fact that, during these challenging times, world wide, our current government is doing the best they can with what they have, and count your lucky stars that you ARE in Ontario.Problems? Oh yeah. Dumb ideas? Yeah, but for sure a lot better than Wynne.
