SooToday 34Trudeau Sr. entrenched French as an official language of Canada. Since then, all Federal jobs require French. Selection is not based on merit, or skill or ability as major factors, but biased to whether you can speak french. So since Trudeau Sr., french speaking people get preferential treatment. They get all the "cash for life" of well paid federal jobs and others, and correspondingly have the most influence and money. Are the most competent? No wonder our government is in decline

4Very Concerning with Carney's Lack of transparency. Carney supported the U.S. on Feb. 28 at the outset. Then his failure to disclose the March 1st Iran attack on Canada's military base in Kuwait resulted in lack of trust. Then he defers responsibility for not informing Canadians of the attack, and says someone else should inform us? This results in confusion. Whether it's Ford or Carney, Canadians deserve transparency. Canadians can only hope for leadership with integrity and accountability. Is there any hope for a leader in Canada who will actually represent Canadian citizens rather than everyone else.

SooToday 2The decline of ASC happened long before current events. I purchased Algoma Steel shares several years ago and stood by and watched them decline. I invested about $35,000, about 13.6 a share, and now my investment is only worth $14,500 and is around $5 share, less than half. I lost my savings supporting ASC as did many others.I watched it decline over the years but did not sell my shares loyally supporting it at my personal loss.

SooToday 1Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Algoma Steel go bankupt in the late 1990's, and was restructured as ASI? Who was blamed then? Didn't lots of taxpayer money $ flow to the steel company then also, and were the workers affected then?
