Doug Ford’s PCs vote to end access to political officials’ records

It will be beyond belief if ANYONE, including Conservatives, can continue to support such a crooked Cabinet! All hail King Dougie and his apostle MPPs.

Oh Douglas, Douglas, Douglas.... how far you have drifted from reality. Time to step aside and hopefully let someone else fix some of the incredibly stupid things you have wrought onto Ontario. Perhaps you could go grovel at Pee-Pee's feet? If this sounds flippant, it's because that's the level you work at.

Sadly, this was predictable as LIV is involved. They have good lawyers and PR people who can spout and spin, but nothing in their minds about actually protecting the environment for the sake of the environment. Develop the site, trash the natural community, rake in a profit, disappear. LIV should be banned by municipalities! The headwaters of Silver Creek are now dead. Beyond shameful, it's criminal.

Is this a joke? Ms. Dunlop has abandoned her riding, not replying to inquiries, not supporting common sense decisions about protecting our natural environment. She seems to be content being arm-candy for the "Premier of Toronto". Acclaimed? By who? Not the people of Simcoe North.

Just like our Southern political neighbours... the more wrong-doing there is to hide, the greater the walls are built to hide it. Doug and his bobble-head MPPs need a drastic reset!

Money is power. To approve such a controversial project, on the shore of Lake Simcoe, in a long time quiet residential community, is a sign of how bad the situation has become. Because Doug Ford's Conservative government has trampled environmental protections and considerations in favour of money-making developments, the end loss will be felt by everyone. Shameful, but they don't care a wit.

"terrorizing residents"?? Sounds like the bird-killing cats and off leash dogs are the ones that need to be wary.

I guess one could try to get King Dougie's ear, but what of his local bobble-head MPPs? They won't do anything, but it would prove how little they care about their constituents (unless you are a developer).

Hey Joe Who... sounds like you had a rough time of it in high school. Keep your sniveling and ranting to yourself.

And so it begins... the same gas-lighting technique used by Trump: Call out your weaknesses first but place it on the shoulders of your opponent. Let the Liberals react while showman Poilievre goes into his next outrageous act of disinformation. While Trump fiasco is an American sham, we Canadians are about to undergo the same playbook.

I re-read this article, and again am further appalled at the arrogant attitude of Mini-me Trump Poilievre. That final paragraph where he wants to have all the recordings given to his team so that it can be distributed "the right way"?! Pompous jerk falls far short of what he truly is.

"environmental stewardship"?? LIV Communities have proven they have NO idea what that means. The density proposed is insane. But, unfortunately, they will probably get their way thanks to the pitiful Doug Ford Conservative government and their "build faster anywhere" fascination of land mismanagement. Not accepting questions is a pitiful and sad method of avoiding input from community members.

Indeed. Asking Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop for assistance is a lost cause.

This is exciting and positive news! Love the new design. Small-minded Orillians will promote vandalism, but maybe cameras and Park security would help. Give the missionary sculpture to Ste. Marie Among the Hurons (or Martyr's Shrine) and they can display it appropriately.

This mass demolition of historic buildings is so wrong on so many levels! Were the anti-Champlain monument folks also involved with this? Stinks the same. KEEP THE MAIN BUILDING INTACT! Learn from our collective mistakes and educate all. Oh, I know, let's get MPP Dunlop to champion for the protection of this historic site! Throw in a photo op for guaranteed success.

I, and others, will be very interested to know what reply if any comes from MPP Dunlop. Her rural roots seem to be severed.

This alone should be cause for the entire Conservative Party to be shut down RIGHT NOW. The Government of Ontario is charged with protecting and conserving all the natural resources within the Province. This included not only timber, oil and gravel, but every ecosystem as well (of which we are a part). What changed since 2007 when this Act was brought forth has a permanent protection of our collective environment from unscrupulous developers? Ah yes, an unscrupulous developer supporter is our Premier.

"Red tape" is in place to stop developers from doing something stupid, whether that may be to ensure protection of the environment or ensuring a safe construction. Yes, overlapping jurisdictions can be burdensome towards getting a permit, but most regulations and 'red tape' are there for a good reason. However, King Ford's notion is that anything that stands in the way of his developer buddy's rip and tear plans has to be eliminated for the sake of personal profit.

Do not confuse these landscaped shrub islands for being a 'forest'. Any plantings are a good thing, but actual urban forestry is quite different from these micro landscapes.

Nice to hear that the coyotes are doing what people should be doing... putting the run on Doug Ford! Go yotes go!
