This is a waste of Orillia's scarce taxpayer dollars. Do we not have staff that could do this analysis without hiring an outside consulting firm? Please tell me that our employees have the requisite knowledge and skills to research this and report to Council.

The hospital serves taxpayers across Oro-Medonte, Severn Ramara and Orillia. This location is geographically central to all Ontario taxpayers in the Orillia region.

All media should report the truth. Suspicion is not quality information.

The new hospital does not serve Orillia. It provides service to Oro-medonte, Severn and Ramara also. The west Ridge location will be more central to all Municipalities that rely on OSMH for the medical needs of their Ontario taxpayers.

It appears to be a problem for people in the local area. Perhaps they should consider analyzing the effects of their self-importance.

We must protect society from Repeat Offenders; people on probation after having been found guilty of a crime and allegedly commit a crime. First offenders of an indictable offense should be required to convince a justice of the reasonableness of being released. If the system errors, the person has a right to legal recourse.

Welcome to reality. The federal liberals significantly reduced the number of foreign students. The result is what is reported in this article.

The conservative government is trying desperately to undo the frivolous spending of a liberal debacle. Liberals spend to buy votes from the marginal positions. It is of paramount importance to understand that , ONLY the private sector pays into the CRF (consolidated revenue fund). Government paid employees recycle tax dollars from the private sector and do not pay anything to the cost of operating the Provincial budget.

Environmentalists object to urban sprawl. If municipal governments choose intensification there is local push back. The previous government under the Liberals championed intensification. Mayor Clarke was a follower and the outcome is what it is.

It is troubling that some citizens are demanding that government control the assets of a private person. Municipal governments dictating to private homeowners what they are permitted to do with their properties. I would expect this in a Communist Regime , but not in a democracy such as Canada.

The safety of any community is the paramount municipal responsibility. If a community is not protected by an adequately funded police service then no resident, business owner, or visitor is safe. Policing costs are small compared to the cost that a town without public safety will pay if lawless thugs control the way of life we enjoy.

Federal and Provincial Governments need to respect the Canadian Constitution. The Distribution of Powers is clearly laid out. Municipalities have NO Constitutional rights. They are a creation of Provinces or Territories. Each level of government must lead in their constitutional authority and let Provinces constitutionally manage Provincial/Territorial responsibility.
