Unruly, undemocratic, creating hell and sleeplessness for thousands of downtown Ottawa citizens. They were all Pollievre Conservatives who were involved in anti-Canadian seditious behaviour. Every single participant should have spent some time in jail.
I just can't stand that whiny baby any more. He needs to step down so that real conservatives can retake the Party and come up with solutions instead of complaints.
Why? It's not going to please everyone and there's going to be some belt tightening but Carney is the only leader I can trust to help us weather the Trump years.
I agree with some of what you say. But I'm impressed with Carney out there working to build and strengthen relationships. In less than a year, he's got the EU Strategic Partnership, the Canada-Quatar Economic Partnership, and the Canada-China Trade Deal. Not a lot but a good start. The ev car deal with China is a good hedge over what Trump might do to our auto industry. Our deal with China may lead to using future idled assembly plants to further assemble Chinese ev cars to North American and EU standards.
@GM Not true. I had been a CPC supporter for decades. Never voted for Trudeau. You are, though, partially correct. I am now fully aligned with the Carney Liberals.
I don't like the way it was handled by the federal government but that does not nullify the behaviour of the truckers who should have been immediately arrested and detained.
So much whining and complaining about the past. This is a time for nation building. We need to come together for nation building that hasn't been seen since WW2. Give Carney his four years. Then, if not satisfied, vote for someone else. It's a given that PP will not be in a leadership position which will give the CPC a chance next time.
Good luck to all candidates in all races. Each person deserves credit for making their lives public in order to serve.Mr. Shoemaker and several counsellors have taken some deserved criticism and a lot of undeserved criticism. There are so many things that municipal leaders simply cannot control, like the past two winters.Keep your minds open, citizens. Listen to what each candidate has to say. Don't listen to unfounded rumours. May we be served well.
When I got OSAP a hundred years ago, I'm pretty sure the grant to loan ratio was close to the reverse, even though I had come from a very low income single parent household. However, I am not going to say that what was good enough for me is good enough for others.Post secondary education should be free for every Canadian, just as it is in many EU countries.
Give Carney his term as he is allowed under our democracy. Then judge him. This period could also be used by the CPC to do some deep thinking and reinvent itself. I voted PC for decades but the CPC's morph into maple maga is destined to self destruction from in-party fighting.
Very insightful and no-nonsense. Thank you. We should feel some reassurance that Algoma will have long term prosperity since it can get temporary assistance from our federal and provincial governments. As Canada transitions away from heavy reliance on U.S. trade, so will Algoma Steel.
The Downtown Plaza is an excellent venue for this type of community event. I hope a couple of vendors are permitted within those hours. Dress warm.Go Jays!
This story reports that the new train station was a joint venture between the EDC and Tony Porco. Was Watco also part of the negotiation for a new station? Were long term lease agreements not part of the government funding agreement?Since it's been five years, are the parties merely quibbling over lease renewal terms? These questions need to be answered since the Agawa Tour Train is the Sault's biggest tourist draw. I can't imagine a "good" customer experience in a railway maintenance yard. Something smells and needs executive attention to rectify.
The anti vax movement continues to mystify me. I'm old enough to remember two kids in my neighbourhood who had polio. Measles and whooping cough were also extremely dangerous. My parents were thrilled when the schools administered vaccines so that the whole neighbourhood was safe.
