29Thank you Mr. Bursztyn for a very accurate, informative, well written, comprehensive article. I'm no fan of Trudeau. In 60+ years of voting I have never voted Liberal. I supported the PC party and campaigns financially and did some door knocking. Poilievre is the first Conservative candidate I could never support or vote for. I don't care about the tiny cost of the carbon tax but one of his excuses for "axeing" it is to eliminate costs like the new dental plan (one of the most valuable Liberal programs ever).

Popular until the 1930s when they played a large part in causing the great depression. Making goods more expensive in US can reduce imports to hurt other countries but it will also reduces American's buying power.

BayToday 13I'm in no hurry to start paying. Many Americans still believe Trump's lie that Canadians will pay his tariffs. No country ever paid a tariff to another country. That Trump tax is an import tax that will be passed on to American consumers at the cash register. His hope is that higher prices will hurt Canada's economy by causing people to buy less imports. Trudeau is threatening tariffs to make us buy less imports. Ford also threatens to increase price States pay for our Electricity.
