SooToday 21There is clearly no custodians working at the George Leach gym facility or front desk staff, just students sitting on their phones doing absolutely nothing. That place needs a major overhaul from the manager to staff so it can be ran properly. Old gym equipment broken down all the time, washrooms constantly out of hand soap/paper towel, urinals are out of service, major roof leak with water still dripping into the weight room, change/showers not clearly being cleaned. I feel sorry for a student attending this out dated, poorly ran, mismanaged university, especially the international students who come here and pay massive tuition fees

The Americans are a global powerhouse, Iran was building nuclear weapons that could reach North America they are doing something about it, not like Canada, we just give everyone money. Why was no one making a big deal when Obama was doing the same thing? He started a war with Iran to but because it’s Trump it is a bigger deal. Why are Canadian media outlets so interested in Trump? SooToday 2Also to add to Warmers comment, I believe we are allowing people to live to long. Dr’s and surgeons making a ton of money off people who are terminal with no chance of recovering and families keeping their loved ones alive. Also the unions in hospitals cost a ton of money because of staffing. They do not hire full time anymore, usually permanent part time while people sit by their phone waiting for a phone call offering a shift. Lots of sick calls, call ins, people off on LTD and the union protects them but it cost the hospital big dollars in overtime to replace those workers when they should be let go.

I have always noticed living here a lot of ditches not being cleaned out and water still remains long after a storm, could be a reason our roads are in bad shape. I live near Falldien and that road is being repaved and the ditches being cleaned out but there is only one home? Maybe they will building along there soon?

Bushplane Museum seeks almost a third of a million dollars from city

Give them the money to fix it or in 3-5 years the whole building will have to come down. When you research things to do in the Soo the only thing to do that pops up is the Bushplane Museum? I don’t get it or into to it but it is a tourist attraction so it is a no brainer, give them the money

Algoma Steel plans maintenance shutdown
SooToday 1The EAF is on a temporary line and they can only run one EAF at a time. They want enough power to run both at the same time if they get busy enough. They have two EAF’s so that if one breaks down or needs maintenance they can flip over to use the other one. Traditionally they had #7 Blas furnace and when they had down days the whole plant almost came to a halt because iron making was the first step in steelmaking, so they would lose a ton of money everytime the blast furnace went down because they only had one
