Nothing like drawing attention to yourself when you don't have insurance, etc. Stupid is as stupid does.

No, maybe people should pay full attention to their driving, follow the rules and drive defensively. I don't know who is at fault here but my guess is it wasn't the motorcycle driver.

So, what do you do with a driver who drives while under suspension? Discuss. You can't lock everyone up; the jails are full already. House arrest with an ankle monitor? Too many are ignoring their suspension. Something has to change.

Fingers crossed and very happy they didn't promote from within.

Development of resources does not have to mean running roughshod over the environment. I believe there are enough intelligent people to do this, although there are some days I wonder about it. Hopefully, we have learned from past mistakes about what not to do.

I can appreciate her asking for a 4-way stop at that intersection, but the real problem is people who just don't obey traffic laws and the only way that is likely to change is through better enforcement of these laws. Of course that is going to take more police on the road doing said enforcement, but if that is what is required then that is what we should be requesting, and yes, I am willing to pay any tax increase to fund this. I don't drive that much in the city but I have on multiple occasions observed blatant disregard of traffic laws, including the running or reds and yellows, improper lane changes, failure to signal, aggressive driving, improper turns, speeding at more than 10 kph over the limit and any and all of these every time I am driving in the city. I guess some don't even realize they are doing it because some of these have become a habit.

When did "gonna" become an accepted substitute for "going to?" I have seen this too many times in Newswatch in the last few weeks.

Get rid of it. It's nothing but a mudhole in the Spring. Fence the one behind kal Tire properly. Thunder Bay dog parks are generally deplorable and insufficient in number for a city this size. Check out Calgary dog parks for an example of how to do it properly. They have about 160 dog parks for a population of 1.3 M. By that standard we should have 16.

The city has typically taken the easy out. These park spaces were required when the initial development took places and the housing needed for the growing families of the baby boomer generation. The empty spaces may be under utilized now but as the older generation dies off, younger families will take their place. Those green spaces will once more be needed. Building on them is short sighted. Convenient perhaps, but not good planning.

So, he was driving with a suspended licence. This seems to be a rather common occurrence; perhaps there have to be stiffer consequences for this, e.g. some jail time or community service, and as others have remarked, judges need to crack down on them.

And in a move to boost the image of our fair town as a growing metropolis, we have decided to include the passengers of all planes in the airspace over our "metropolitan area," campers at the area campgrounds, occupants of all vehicles in our "area," and anyone contemplating a move to Thunder Bay. Did I miss anyone?

What? No complaints about “Port Arthur gets everything.”

If those who are so opposed to the proposed nuclear waste storage spent half as much energy thoroughly researching the process they might see the logic behind it. "Migh" because their minds were likely made up as soon as the word "nuclear" was mentioned. These same people want society to stop carbon sourced electricity and switch to electric vehicles, a mutually exclusive proposition. Nuclear fission power is the only way forward in the near future. Nuclear fusion power is a long way off.

Give them time; they'll be predicting devastation all the way from southern Ontario to Ignace. Oh, the horror!

To Rock, Yes, it's called defensive driving for a reason and it only takes a second if you are watching traffic before the light changes. Saved my life once, also on the "expressway" when I would have been killed by a loaded dump truck speeding through the red on the "expressway" at Oliver. I was in a Ford Fiesta and would not have has a chance had I pulled out immediately after the light changed.

Yeah, we'll see how long all these pretty little decorative elements last. Likely about as long as some of the other adornments of the past, e;g. flags and banners, decorative crosswalks, Cumberland St, N. grass boulevards, etc. etc.

It's about time! Better late than never, I suppose. Next step, garbage and organics, but when? The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. No more having to chase down the lid on windy days when it isn't put back on the can properly.

Ka-ching, let the cash register ring. That's going to be expensive for the driver as insurance will not pay for the damage.
