Unions are standing up to the government and outside entities trampling on fair contract negotiations. CUPE already showed their strength of resolve when education workers remained on strike when Doug ford used legislation instead of negotiations to force a contract.

Just like our city to tell us not to believe our own eyes. Hahaha

Proceeds go into health care and education? Likely not.

Useless expense. It has existed as such for as far back as I can remember with absolutely no problems. I can guarantee they will not recoup 100% of the money back. The city should stay out of purchasing property. Every time they do it's a loss.

Maybe spending millions on pet projects and buying a derelict former hospital wasn't such a good idea. Who knew?

One has to wonder why AC is the only national air service in Canada? Why it's too big to fail? Why has it been allowed to become a monopoly? Government regulations and policies that defeats competition outside of established conglomerates. I suppose you love paying some of the most expensive costs for air travel, telecommunications/media and groceries. And that's why you are propping them up?

They are healthy and fixed. Fine him and let these animals live. Inspect the enclosure and animals welfare on a regular basis with the fine being earmarked for the cost of the inspections. There is no need to kill healthy animals that can't reproduce.

Classification of essential service would just give Air Canada more power to abuse employees and not negotiate contracts in good faith. If you want to classify air travel as essential, laws would need to be enacted to loosen Air Canada's monopoly and open up competition, as well as cap prices and profits.

@Bluewolf No it's end stage capitalism. The wealthy elite are beginning to take over. The billions of everyday folk are the scapegoat that the elite want you to blame.

I know we have an rcmp office in the Sault across from the station mall. But I have never seen rcmp officers on duty in the streets. So are these new officers going to be like the rest and just occupy office space?

Once again. Neglect to basic services and spending on pet projects has put us in this predicament. Not just in recent years, but for a long time now. How's all these fancy facilities and attractions looking now? Can't maintain roads or basic infrastructure, basic services like garbage removal or snow removal without jacking up taxes.

So will be sold for far less than what the city paid for it. Another genius move on the city's part. All because the city wanted to play morality police when the owner clearly stated he had no intention of rebuilding the dime.

Not all opioid addicts became addicts via street drugs. There's recorded numbers who were prescribed painkillers that they were told to be safe and the best option. Then when they got cut off their medication had to turn to street drugs.

People were tripping over each other to buy way above market value a few years ago instead of waiting for the inevitable drop on prices. Of course real estate agents were over joyed then because higher commissions. Now things have changed and you won't get those inflated prices anymore. What's that saying about playing stupid games?

So almost 6 years after covid finally? Executives, politicians and higher ups have been taking advantage of this for way too long. Front line workers have been having to work on site for years. Many had to still during the height of the pandemic.

Ford may be initiating it. But let's face it, no future governments will repeal it when they get a chance. Ford's just biting the bullet for the whole political structure.

Don't tell these people that nuclear fuel and waste has been shipped all over Canada since ww2, into the cold war and still today without incident. It will blow their minds. Nuclear energy, components and waste is highly regulated and safe to the public.
