I understand Spirits Canada fighting for their members and wanting US products back on the shelves, but it seems to me a 20% drop in overall sales of alcohol isn’t a terrible thing for people - maybe some are realizing cutting back is a good thing. And yes, I drink. (mainly beer).
Not really surprising. People are driving like it’s the middle of summer…running yellow/red lights, left turns well after the arrow has finished. Good drivers beware…the bad ones don’t care.
I don’t think the public is content, but some of the trucking companies seem to be fine with losing drivers that way (and/or putting the public at risk). It reminds me of how mining was 100 years ago, when deaths were just a part of the job.
There’s an article about plowing, and all the comments are about how bad their roads are. Now we’ve had even more snow, and now the comments are about how dare drivers stay off the roads. Thunder Bay has some world class complainers.
“ Coun. Albert Aiello said during Monday's committee of the whole meeting that the city had received an email from Harbour Metals suggesting they could take the tug at no cost to the city. City manager John Collin said staff were not aware of the email.” Did no one at the meeting think to ask/suggest that they review the actual email?
