City's waterfront plan will change downtown traffic patterns

Council is showing good and progressive foresight. I support the concept.

Look back to our waterfront in "the good old days". It was an industrial wasteland. If it wasn't for forward thinking by the then council and the courage to develop it we wouldn't have the beautiful waterfront we can all enjoy today.I support council in their attempt to revitalize our downtown. Our downtown problems are the same as most cities across the Country. We are trying to mitigate things the best we can.If you don't like our current council then run for office if you think you can do better. Put up or shut up.

As long as Trump remains in office, I will not visit or support any US businesses.

The source of all this angst has one source. The moron that the American people elected to office. I really do miss our regular visits to the US but my resolve remains strong: to stay in the country I love . CANADA. As long as Trump continues to disrespect our country I hope all Canadians will do the same.

We moved here in 2010 . Today we love Sault Ste Marie more than ever. In spite of the social and economic issues we share in common with all communities of similar size ,this fact remains: The Sault is a great place to live, set in a beautiful region and inhabited by kind and caring people.

When your friend and neighbour sucker punches you and kicks you when you're down . Why would you want to keep visiting? I'm so done with the 'sister city" rhetoric at least for now.

He was elected bu his party to lead the party. That is how our system works.

CHIPPEWA County vote tended towards Trump so I don't have much sympathy for them.

We have enjoyed the annual International Bridgewalk many times over the years. This year it was a "hard pass" for us.The shared sense of community in our Twin Saults was something we always loved and in fact celebrated. That is gone, at least for now. When one's friend and neighbour senselessly disrespects and assaults you ,how can friendship remain? This is where we are at now. I cannot sugar coat this with insincere platitudes about our former long standing cross border friendship. Once the US comes to its senses we can rebuild our friendship. We will forgive in time . We may never forget.

Tear it down forthwith along with the other derelict properties in the city. Bill the negligent property owners. If it takes the Province and Municipalities enacting legislation to permit this, get going with new Provincial Stautes and Municipal Bylaws to facilitate things. Get the homeless and druggers off the street and into compulsory treatment for their own safety and the protection of we 99 percenters. Send the criminals to prison and keep them there. If this sounds harsh, too bad. What we are doing as a society not is not working particularly well. And no... this is not just a Sault issue it is across the Province and Country. It is not a liberal vs conservative problem so don't go there. It is societal issue caused by people making bad choices and not being accountable.

It's all about the politics. When our neighbour threatens our sovereignty and attacks our economy why would we want to visit.

We watched the video. He may be a utube star, but he needs to strive for more accuracy. It was entertaining but many statements by interview subjects were not at all credible...especially the dude at the Tower of History in the US.

We were the same...now we won't go over at all.

This is a good move. Costly yes but necessary to begin redevelopment of the area. Get the property away from this grifter and get something done.

Trump is 100% to blame for the difficult circumstances faced by these businesses.

Shame on you.

It might seem so on the surface but I think there is a greater strategy on our Canadian side. Longer game here. PM Carney has a PHD ,Trump is an utter imbecile. Let's see how this pays out.
