Caputo says 'you cannot just ask for someone's resignation'

You absolutely can and should call for the resignation of a board member who is appears working against the best interests of the organization. Also - “out of town with poor cell reception”, it’s nice to know Ms Caputo prioritizes her summer vacationing over the constituents she was elected to represent. If you’re not going to attend the meetings then don’t run for office!

Campaigning for an election that he keeps delaying and won’t let happen? How anybody could continue to support this party is beyond me. A man of zero integrity, Jack Layton is rolling in his grave!

Quite rich of Mr. Fratesi to accuse or criticize anybody for a “lack of transparency”. Glass house much? Anything that will create good paying jobs especially downtown should be council’s top priority.

GFL has bought up several small companies monopolizing certain markets and immediately raising service prices while decertifying their unions to line their pockets on the backs of their workers. This council regularly makes shortsighted decisions but this wasn’t one of them. This would have been a disastrous decision on every front, we should not get into business with this company any more than we already have.

Can’t wait to find out how much this “surprise” cost us taxpayers during such challenging times in our community.

That intersection is already absolute bedlam from 6-7am and again in the late afternoon. This is a terribly dangerous idea that can only go worse than the Albert street debacle.

Kim stop being ridiculous. Nobody, anywhere said that councillors should be available 24/7 or not take vacations. Our city councillors meet only once per month during the summer and only about 20 times per year. They are also paid to do so. They absolutely should be expected to attend every one of these meetings and are all free to schedule their vacations accordingly as well as hold employment elsewhere.

Are you looking to blame someone politically for the rainfall?

Don’t worry, soon they’ll start resurfacing moss road and we will all just have to stay home.

Speed limits of 110km/hr and higher are commonplace in just about every region outside of Ontario. It’s about time we move into the 21st century.

Well said. While the lobbying from Ford and those affiliated with him presents a conflict of interest and Ford should perhaps just stay quiet on this, this company should not be disqualified from getting the contract. Buy Canadian and build Canadian, would we prefer another Chinese ship builder simply because the local one knows politicians?

Why don’t you try it instead of spouting your negativity? And if you feel there is such a need for volleyball courts why don’t you build some instead of criticizing a not for profit organization who are stepping up to fill a community need?

Don’t bother with security. In fact we should be encouraging would-be thieves to cut into live electrical equipment!

Fascinating situation, so happy I don’t live in this municipality. This council was so unbearable to work with that they managed to push out the two men elected to bring fair and balanced representation. They are now rewarded with the opportunity to appoint whoever they wish, somebody that will “go with the flow”. Very undemocratic!

NIMBY! While you made a great effort using big words and fancy acronyms to sound as if you know what you’re talking about, unfortunately you do not. While PCBs may still be present in old transformers and switchgear produced before 1979, they will not be present in any of the new infrastructure. They are not something that can be “emitted”, and would never have been present anywhere along the actual transmission line except in the equipment located inside the two substations themselves.
