My father in his 98 year was a fit and healthy guy right up to ten days before the prostate cancer rendered him unable to continue on. The caring and planning that the MAID provided was unparalleled. Dad made this choice. He said he realized he would not get better and the pain was not controlled. He couldn’t pee , eat or other activities of daily living. I’m thankful he had this option.

They’d better think again. We seniors without a huge pension just cannot afford this hike. Our CPP hasn’t gone up that much. Gas, food, it’s all too much before we’re all homeless. Trim the fat.

With the price of almost everything going up except our pensions, we must make it affordable to remain in our homes. Property tax for seniors is difficult to budget and keeps going up. Try to find areas in budget that could be made more efficient and affordable.

After seeing how the process works and I believe it does work , even quickly when a person is suffering in pain from a terminal illness. There are safeguards for the safety of patients and Drs and nurses who follow the rules and criminal code . Not knowing his medical history I believe there was something that prevented a medically assisted suicide. Last week my Dad used MAID and it was a blessing for him. The medical team were caring, and thorough and comforting to Dad and the family. It’s not easy for the team either. Perhaps they feel he could have help to reduce pain and be more mobile. I don’t know but do know it works .

I’m a senior awaiting a second knee surgery. I’ve sat on the benches to regain my strength to get from one end of town to the other. If you want us to shop Orillia provide a bench. If druggies are passed out on them take them to rehab , jail or wherever they need to go. Fed up with law abiding citizens being punished for behaviour of drunk , disorderly or druggies.

I had a costly pothole repair. I photographed it did everything and submitted it but to no avail. Don’t remember exact amount but $1,500Comes close. Don’t even remember the excuse of why they weren’t at fault. While living in Mexico they had a great system, they’d put a chair in offending hole. You’d see it go around it no broken shocks. Great idea.

They closed the good restaurants and buffet. Pay outs are few and far between. Money is not as plentiful with cost of living so high.

In the summer keeping dog food cans and other objects is going to cause ants , bugs etc. I do clean out cans but am not prepared to run my garbage through the dishwasher. Also it’s extra heavy for our seniors who struggle now with the blue box load. Now he’s doubling that. Still no update or idea on city’s cat litter. Keep working on this. What looks good to Greg on paper will in my opinion be another headache for home owners.

A shame and another poor decision by the mayor to not give funding to the most basic services and needs of this community. People need to find a safe spot for internet. Family times in the library offers a cost effective solution to cinema. Reading is a gift and Sundays are one day families can do this together. The staff is helpful , cheerful, knowledgeable. A library is central to the well being of a community. Please fund it.

Check the inside of your gloves. In cold weather it could easily slip off.

It’s been a financially hard year , the cleanup from ice storm and repairs to property damage has left me scraping the bottom of my money barrel. I cannot afford another tax increase. Our pensions don’t keep up with inflation. Whatever reason he said no it benefits me.

The art displayed from the children, or war participants pictures , the quilt is all fine and good. I’m there to get books to read. I’ve noticed that quite a few books have broken spines, pages are water damaged, pages yellowing, dirty food stains etc. Why not invest in new books , replacements of popular damaged books in stead ?

If you want more people to use the Downtown core , do something about the sad state of parking affairs.

Very sorry. Very proud of the way you’re handling yourself sir.
It was a great game. Remember it is a game. We still won silver. I’ve never been big on hockey but love to watch non violent Olympic Games.

I wish I’d know this or been told by my vet office. I had the gruelling task of having to euthanize my poor dog this month. A brain tumour. It would’ve been so much easier on us all had I known about this service.
