OrilliaMatters 41This makes me so very sad. Both my husband and I worked there for many years and we treated the residents with dignity. They were like our family. Neither of us witnessed any abuse in our 30 plus years there. We wouldn't have tolerated it. I can say, I am tired of everyone being tarred and feathered with the same brush! I loved my job and the residents there. No matter what happens on that property in the future, we will cherish our great times working at HRC !!

OrilliaMatters 13Yes, these are human beings, yes they are addicted to illegal drugs, NO, the majority do not want to stop using! I've heard "they have to want help". My thought is, why wouldn't they? Why did they take drugs initially? Why are they allowed to accost people for money every place you go in Orillia? Why do I fear going to the parks? I pay my taxes and should be able to enjoy the parks we have but cannot. They are doing drugs everywhere. It is disgusting. I don't know what the answer is but maybe this Bill is a start to them getting clean. The "mental health issues" is a worn out, overused excuse to let them away with this behaviour.

The catch and release system should be left to fishing not criminals! Everyone says something needs to be done, yet when steps are taken they condemn Ford. Can't have it both ways!

OrilliaMatters 4Chickens belong on a farm not in residential areas. Orillia allows this in town. It is NASTY! The smell we neighbours have to put up with, the hoards of flies, and influx of rats is not acceptable! Some people may follow the bylaws, but most don't and no one follows up to check.

OrilliaMatters 6This is getting ridiculous! The amount of theft in this town is sickening! Giant Tiger has Security now as well! I think this is the way of the future. Sad to think. Wish the courts would give harsher sentences to the offenders. These idiots think the world owes them and is there for the taking. Even donation boxes will need to be locked with a chain. Sad world. There is nothing worse than a liar or a thief!
