Take the parents out of the stands, and off the boards, and we might have a chance at kids sports being fulfilling and rewarding for all.Sadly this happens at all levels of sport, but in especially in soo Hockey, everyone thinks their kid is the next Nik Antropov... when really they likely are just the next "Taro Tsujimoto".

It's not the police releasing them it's the courts. This is a slippery slope however, towards a big-brother society. Who is to say the next investment isn't AI to monitor the cameras for tracking and other social experiments. It is already in progress in lots of locations... and we also have a license plate recognition camera...

He is young and it should be forgiven quickly for an error. At least he cares enough to write letters and ask for change... good on him.

PP lost his seat for quite a few reasons, too much focus on the national campaign, he's somewhat unlikeable and was painted as "Trumps boy". As well, the liberal party spent untold resources on that area, rumors also swirled that "massive public servant cuts" were coming, and the ruling government definitely gerrymandered that district (redistributed the boundaries). The longest ballot didn't help, but if you do the math and count all the votes for CPC, they still fell short.Funny thing is: persistent rumor that "large scale public service cuts" are impending.

We will thank Terry for this. He is a genuinely nice guy and works very hard for the Sault. But we all know when the changes were made to these laws, and who did it.We also all know who has been shouting and yelling (or whining if you prefer liberal speak), in Parliament and the media.

Not one other province stood up to the federals when they wanted to cap the oil production. It's a provincial matter... I live in Ontario but I support Alberta. They are the ones paying the transfers...

If you don't like his speech, you have freewill to let it go out of your thoughts. Greg is entitled to his own opinion, as are you, at least for now. If you are a fan of his music, you probably would pickup on his disdain for certain archetypes in his lyrics.I thought Greg looked alot more alive and spry than the last time they played here. The musicianship as usual is top notch with this band.

My best friend was a legally blind man. He would not have stood for this, nor should we citizens accept it.Get a soo college electrical student and an engineering student on grants to do:audit of locations, type(model) and such, get a list of parts and buy them in bulk, and get the repairs done. I'm sure you could standardize them as you go, to at least a few different models.Do the work. Shouldn't be that hard. Have the appropriate professional supervise them, work with a local company if needed and they get a small sum as remuneration and great publicity... This can be done. If it's a matter of funds, council do it, this is public safety. And yes it was a hard winter for everyone and everything. Now make it so! Please?

I'm not a used car salesman (but I have played one on TV). It's not illegal in Ontario to sell cars without OMVIC papers. What is illegal is to sell cars and say/claim you are OMVIC licensed dealer. Also this is not criminal law, a matter for the police, it's Civil law a matter for the courts.

Well, he is unlikeable for certain and many times annoying. Unfortunately he usually is ahead of issues like inflation, crime, and other bug-a-boos. Believe it or not folks, this is what an opposition is suppose to do. Point out the flaws in the plan, and point out failed results and question them. You would think his unlikableness is in the liberals favor, and they wouldn't be pushing so hard for him to leave (media blitz of late). What has he accomplished, well for one, he's made the very left leaning NDP-Liberals actually move towards the center, and adopt the flavor of his ideas... consumer carbon tax and bail reform. However, the issue with the last decade of government has been executing on ideas efficiently. They can't execute any ideas into logical plans which translate into results. Some of the ideas are flawed and only for show (gun policies, and the housing plan), and some of the failures (CRA) are down right scandalous. Carney is slightly more likeable...

You are correct in that the riding was adjusted to include "new growth areas". However, it included a large swath of existing urban population base, changing it from it's roots as a "rural agricultural" riding. That meets the very definition of gerrymandering if ever there was one. It doesn't take a poly-sci degree to understand that. As for the non-partisan elections Canada that has had a record amount of irregularities this past election, including the courts ruling on a riding in Quebec? Can you recall an election where there have been so many large profile irregularities reported? I cannot. Something has changed.

While rats and mice are allowed to roam without a license, you can pry my cat from my cold dead hands...What's next, telling adopters they have to pay a monthly subscription fee to keep their cat?You can't apply conditions above and beyond the law for something that you took money for, unless their is copyright or intellectual property.Cats are natural predators, and evolved from wild animals, all you have to do is type "cat video" in youtube and watch them battle and win almost all battles.I dare you to ban all cats from outside to see the havoc that would be caused by rats, and mice, squirrels, and voles. I double dog dare you!

You are incorrect. Nuclear is the greenest after Hydro... just steam and power and jobs using material that was going to radioactively decay anyhow. Apart from the spent fuel issue, which new smaller reactors are being designed to use as fuel, it is the best in terms of $/Capacity when emission and lifecycle are figured in.Coal can be made cleaner, but generally it is the worst in terms of emissions. Solar and wind are good options for small amount of capacity... but they only produce when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing.Do some reading and have an open mind.

There are multiple incentives to moving from Ontario to Florida. Do a bit of digging and you will find alot of companies in California are moving out of there as well. Florida is a state with no personal income tax, very low corporate tax. Companies will get more bang for their buck. That's what managing a publicly traded company is about, maximizing shareholder value. The climate probably doesn't hurt either, and like the article says, they can participate in a broader (US Based) investment pool.Florida also lets you keep your primary residence if you file for bankruptcy, which is why a lot of the super rich move there.

Imagine a recreational sport with rules that get called... by trained officials to the best of their ability. Regardless of the number of officials (I'm sure there is a regulated minimum standard), a team shouldn't lack control over a bad call or two... especially the parents and especially to the officials. After this story I'm sure there will be less interested in officiating. Sports need to treat officials like gold, hockey parents treat them like WWF wrestlers, hurling insults and such.Regardless of the costs involved this is recreational sport. Not "For profit" Pro/Entertainment with instant replay and such. What is the coaches role in all of this? It is their job to set the tone for their teams. Fairplay and honesty above all else, get your team under control.Soccer in this city considered at one time "Silent-games" where spectators could not speak or they would be ejected. Perhaps it's time for this league?

Can you believe we don't have application standards yet? Can't just blame Ford either, we have had multiple governments with zero action. In addition:Mandatory snow tires would also be good policy. They have it already in Quebec... This oversalting kills aquifers and that is 10000x more important than banning plastic straws.
