I absolutely agree. This is unacceptable. I agree it's elder abuse, and someone needs to admit they failed. Maybe not a singular person failed, but the hospital system failed as a whole. Serious questions need to be asked. And there ABSOLUTELY needs to be change, because that should have never happened.

@Unnamed city council member. I cannot find a single reference in local news regarding the public open house sessions or any reference to the "loops" routing prior to "We're putting it in." There was talk about paying consultants from Toronto, but that consultant also said,"Who are the real experts? It's not us from Toronto, it's you guys. It's the users of the system, and we need to be sure, as we are moving forward, that the transit system works for the operators and for the users, and that it's getting you to where you want to be as quickly as as possible, in a cost-efficient manner."People are reporting that it takes them two hours to get around. That's not efficient, it's not quick. In truth, two hours on a bus, where you can drive across town in twenty minutes, is the routing and the system saying "We don't care about you, we don't care about your time." And that is just insulting, to every person who relies on transit to get around.

@Unnamed city council member. "Millions of suggestions" you say. What exactly is the population of the soo? Further, I certainly don't know who you've been hanging around, but I suspect that would all be people who drive cars. Because anyone who sits for an hour or two, on a bus, is certainly not thanking you for doing such a "great job" on the bus routes.

I'm running for mayor, just working on collecting signatures. It's 1:23am and I'm working on new routes. Next step, talk to people, and see if these ideas are any good! One of the concerns is access to medical care, from Bay St. I have that built in with pretty easy routing. "Take the Downtown bus to the DT Term, transfer to Cross-town Express." Easy as can be that way, but... Yeah, there's a lot more to do than just drawing lines on a map... But I hear the complaints. And I want to make this better for people.

The best part is, the Toronto consultant said, "Who are the real experts? It's not us from Toronto, it's you guys. Heavy rain, thunderstorms possible this afternoon

I was driving back into town when that hit. Desbarats to Echo Bay was slow going. People were starting to pull over near the Island turnoff, most of us running hazard lights because you couldn't see running lights through the rain. Even got so bad, most people pulled over. There were moments you couldn't see the end of your own hood. Saw a lot of the vehicles from there getting into town, so looks like everyone made it through safely.That was HEAVY... I haven't seen rain that hard in years.I was planning on taking my car in for a wash... Got back and discovered, I don't need to anymore!
