And that is why no one wants to be a landlord any longer. Once you rent, you have no control of your own property any more. So if anyone wonders why rentals are pricy and hard to find, this is one big reason. If I buy something, fix it up and want to use it to make income, I should be able to get someone out that I don't want there. Doesn't matter what the reason is...its my property and I should be able to determine who stays and who goes. Period.

Oh well. If you have to pay more to see a racist comedy show, that isn't a bad thing. And bringing a racially charged comedy show into a city that has a very high tension level at the moment around racism is entirely tone deaf. Good for the TBCA for reading the room.

No, Freedom of Expression only applies if it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. Making jokes that are racial, sexist or religionist infringes on many others' rights. You don't get to avoid the consequences of saying something just because you CAN say it. These are his consequences for the content of his show. Besides, with all the great comedy out there, why does a hate agenda need to even be a thing?

If I said all Germans are Nazi's, you wouldn't get upset even a little? You want diversity when it fits YOUR narrative, but not others'. Making jokes about races, religions or sexes isn't funny. And it isn't freedom of expression. It's veiled hate.

The reality is that while the initial information from safe supply and safe use sites WAS positive, it was very early in the data collection to make those statements. It was apparent from the get-go that everyone involved wanted it to work and wanted the best outcomes. And to be fair, it was worth trying and following. But they needed to collect a decade of data before making conclusions. Because the initial effects noted did not last. Property crimes rose, violent crimes rose, theft rose, prostitution and human trafficking rose. Yes, there was a drop in OD's and a drop in illegal drug convictions, but the cost of managing these other crimes, which increased more than they had in the previous decade, was greater than the cost of the safe use and safe supply programs plus the cost of the OD's and drug trafficking crimes combined. A net loss. And, the crimes that rose were perpetuated amongst groups who were mainly innocent bystanders/uninvolved populations.

A rifle bullet most certainly cannot travel 5 miles. At most, a high powered rifle can travel 2 miles and that is with no wind, no rain, low humidity and a perfect angle to the shot. It doesn't mater anyhow. A psycho shot at a cop. This is why stronger restrictions for firearms purchases and mental health checks and gun seizures after a mental health diagnosis should be mandatory.

If the OTA is SOOOOOO concerned, maybe they should be policing their members better. Dawson rd is not safe for transports. It really never was but with all the yahoos driving trucks like they are battering rams now, and anyone with a pulse being given a license, it’s insane.

This should be available to any and all people facing a prison sentence, then. You can't just assuming that trauma is affecting only members of one race. It isn’t content. Its apathy. We aren’t a society of action and progress. We are a society of talk and bluster now. We watch on Facebook and YouTube and we send thoughts and prayers like that makes a difference. Until we hold each and every poor driver, commercial or not, fully accountable for their actions, and change the application of the laws to produce harsh consequences for driving errors and infractions, no one is going to change or give a darn. What needs to change? Forced ignition locks after driving time has elapsed, automatic max sentences for fines and jail time for infractions, immediate shutdown of all driving schools that provide substandard training, 24/7 inspection stations, seizure and sale of all loads that skip or attempt to circumnavigate inspection stations, automatic multi-million dollar compensation to families who lost loved ones by the companies hiring substandard drivers or engaging in practices that support these drivers, and stop expecting rapid delivery

36chambers, they aren't asking for a fair deal. They are asking for 24% over 4 years for a raise? WHo asks for that? That's just plain and simple greed and being out of touch with what people are going through right now. WHere do they think that money will come from? Us...the taxpayer. Sorry, but no. I'll use couriers from now on. They aren't that much more expensive and way faster and more reliable. There won't be a lot of postal jobs if people start turning to private couriers.

The London woman charged with “failure to comply with a court order.” So let’s send her back to court again and watch her not comply with that….you aren’t rehabilitating repeat offenders! You just aren’t. Especially when they just ignore the consequences whenever they are given.Stop putting them in prisons that have more comforts than their home does. Start making them grow their own food in the prison, make them do all the work to cook, clean, maintain, the prison. THEN you might give them skills they can use on the outside and they can actually make something of themselves. But nope…they get 3 meals a day, internet, Netflix, medical care (yes, they see a doctor faster than the rest of us do).
