I think it is safe to say Vic Fedeli and Mr. Burton have some explaining to do? This was a blatant misuse of taxpayer dollars. The warning signs were there right from the beginning. Stu Campaigne, the author of this article has been investigating and reporting on all the suspicious and secretive aspects of this project over the past year or more and NOBODY seemed to be listening. Well, I guess they will be listening now! This is one of a long list of debacles by the Ford Government and yet the voters of North Bay continue to elect the man who is right smack dab in the middle of this one.

What part of you don't use the corporate credit card for personal purchases does the Mayor not understand? I mean seriously...dog food??? The Integrity Commissioner services are not free and when fraud is suspected/committed isn't the city obligated to have the OPP investigate? This is beginning to have an air of arrogance on the part of the Mayor and it's not a good look. He should show some grace and resign.

If you are serious about entering Municipal politics you might want to consider addressing local politicians by their names & not the nick names assigned to them by angry voters. These nick names may sit well with many commentors on social media but it's viewed as disrespectful & inappropriate in the political arena. Also, it's kinda "Trumpish" lol.

Well that was a very disappointing display of leadership by our Council last night. The Mayor claims he's embarrassed by his little $16,000. oversight but he did nothing wrong, and a good majority of Council are clearly OK with that explanation. It's the arrogance of the Mayor and the display of cowardice on the part of so many Councillors that I find distasteful. I have lost all respect for the Mayor and those, with their weak excuses, that refused to support the motion. Thanks to the 3 that tried to introduce some accountability into a governing body that has clearly lost its way.

I'm drawn to Mr. Gardiner's comment "It’s been played out in the media to the detriment of his family, his children, his grandchildren, and his name. In my mind, he’s suffered enough." Mr. Gardiner seems to be implying that by doing their job and reporting the news the media has played a role in disgracing the Mayor's family. I truly feel bad for his family and the Mayor should have thought of how his actions would have negatively affected them prior to unlawfully using the city credit card for his own personal use.

We should all be concerned that Smith deceived everyone. She claimed she was going on a family vacation and proceeds to join up with Kevin O'Leary to meet with Trump. To date, she has remained silent on the discussions she had with Trump. Has her actions weakened Canada's defence against Trump's proposed tarriffs....absolutely! So, the question remains, did Trump shrug her off and send her on her way, or did she sell out Canadians for her own political gain? Time will tell.
