the dog should have been put down immediately and tested for rabies. The owner charged with assault. Simple.

Oh boy, instead of CBC news, pp will give the stations over to FOX. Conservatives hate the news because they depend on the BIG LIE, and the legitimate news agencies call them out. But not FOX, they are all in with pp.

Sad that a few vocal people will do away with fireworks. Is it really such a big problem or is it just another squeaky wheel that goes all "month hood" and there we go. Seriously - is it really a huge problem? Deaths? Injuries? Fires? none I believe. Get a grip council - there are more important issues in Guelph that don't need this silly distraction.

No Parking at all, REALLY! the developer will save a fortune, no big hole to dig. But where are the tenants going to park?????

Long mortgages have long been a thing in the US. The situation there is much different - mostly mortgage interest is tax deductible so much cheaper. They do have capital gains on primary homes, but it is pretty light. Just not comparable situations.

Best ban cars and barking dogs too!!!!

Really!! The 65 that responded are the haters of fire works. And Staff do love restrictions of any sort. This is stupid and unnecessary - but I guess it scares the horses and that's good enough for Staff and council. Sad, they just don't have enough to do, perhaps thin the Staff herd by a few dozen and only do real work.

Doug and the Provence have essentially make affordable housing illegal by declaring that "affordable" is 75% of the average rent. There are no funds or breaks for building anything affordable and all the funds and breaks for building luxury. The Conservatives have zero interest in affordable housing and are doing less than nothing.

Dealing with a 6 year old is hard. Just wait 3 days and he won't remember.

If you are stealing cars, having a valid driver's licence is probably not too high on your list. Try telling the car companies to stop making cars that are so easy to steal.

Boy, a lot of nastiness and bad attitude out here. It is quite normal to take un-paid leave to run for any office. Especially from another office. There is a second councillor for the ward who will handle things.

Oh everyone rushing to solve the "housing emergency". The last thing developers want to do is flood the housing market and drive prices down - quite the opposite.

But it may result in curious people disturbing the nest.

Looks like a plan to put CAs under convenient Ministerial control, so a few lines can be moved for the profit of Doug's developer buddies. Nothing to do with conservation or flood control, all about promoting selective land speculation - the hallmark policy of Doug's Conservatives.

So let me understand this. Doug is giving us back 200 bucks of the taxes we paid but he has already spent that money so he's borrowing 3 billion dollars to do it. So we already paid the 200 bucks in last year's taxes and now we're going to pay interest on the loan to give it back to us? Pretty shady finances these Conservatives. I think I am being swindled with my own money.

Fees and red tape has decreased the patio participation. If the City would just close the streets to vehicles - there would be no need for the expensive barriers. Little or no cost really. Well the "renting" of the sidewalks and roadways are just made up - they do not generate revenue otherwise. Oh, and before you go at it - the buses have lots of other roads to use. As long as it is kept teetering on reality - the more it will fail.

Thank-you Habitat for delivering exactly what Guelph needs!!!! I am all for it.

The University is a creature of the Provincial Government. With all of Doug's marketing about a housing crisis (It's really a land speculation boom for his buddies) he could have funded new residences at Universities. But instead he froze tuition which results in Universities being cash starved. Ontario spends less per University student than any other province. When you are criticizing the University, you should be criticizing the guy who tightens the purse strings every year. There is the problem.

No need to subsidize these developers. If they don't have a viable project, withdraw the application and start again.

Is Doug going to pay for all the cancelled contracts????
