This increase will definitely be a factor in the demise of most if not all of council including the Mayor and some city staff.

So...guess what... corporations are the villans here...they are the ones enjoying the cash windfalls here, they are the ones who are showing their greed. The workers gave their all when the pandemic happened and they are getting nothing in return for their efforts...they deserve a fair contract...gas, food and housing prices won't be coming down and the banks are making a ton of money with higher rates...and some of the comments are suggesting that workers give back if rates do happen to drop? ...lol give your heads a shake...are the rich corporations giving anything back? ...not on your life. These workers deserve everyone's support, let's go Cargill the ball is in your court, make a decent deal and pay what the employee's deserve and get back to making your mountains of money, you certainly can afford it while maintaining respect with your employees and Union heads.

So, let's increase the cost of new and existing homes by up to 50k+ and the cost of another vehicle preferably an ev by 20k+, does anyone on here have the means to pay for these "loans" for home improvements and vehicle replacement? You do realize that people are living paycheck to paycheck and when choosing on whether to enroll in the program or putting food on the table...guess which choice wins. The help from the province council is relying on won't happen unless the Premier gets kickbacks to further pad his fat wallet.

The Premier of Ontario is one of the worst Premier's that Ontario has had since Mike Harris who unsurprisingly was also PC. I don't believe that your poll suggests that the present Premier would have 40% of the vote of the responding community of Guelph. Our current Premier is as corrupt as they come, he favors only his rich friends, is not transparent, changes legislation to hide PC Party crimes, is not a politician, has no accountability, his Party only sat in Queens park 51 days last year, health care is a joke, education policy is failing our kids, spends our hard earned tax money on vanity projects, Ontario's debt will be a huge burden for the younger generations to come, I could go on and on about this clueless Premier. Voters....if I seem like I am writing about the insane person in the south...I'm not...this person is the Premier of Ontario, they are one and the same.

Gonna be more drinking and driving on our roads thanks to the Premier and with that more death and injuries. Voters....Remember all the garbage Ford has pushed...look at the costs of the 413 hwy to save 1min of driving while the 407 sits empty, the Greenbelt fiasco, Ontario place, Science Center, not withstanding clauses being used, changing legislation to protect themselves from being sued, sat on their hands during the Convoy Protests, Health Care in shambles, Education in disarray ..with more to come. This government duped the taxpayers of this great province with a $120 saving for a license plate sticker....this CON government deserve to be voted OUT in 2026

Concept looks good except for the cars, would there be a way to have cars coming in from Woolwich and Macdonell not drive thru the square essentially having a uturn that stops short of the middle of the square in order to drive back to those streets after doing their business?

The person who exposed the school to this dangerous virus should never have been allowed to attend the school in the first place, the provincial government should be held responsible for dragging their feet on this, vaccinations are mandatory and must be enforced.

One more point...the city or the federal government or the United Nations...purchase all our fossil fuel equipment that we use now at fair value

Doug Ford is a cunning lying mobster who loves to use people for his advantage, these Bills are going to hurt many people not to mention the fragile environment. This man deserves no respect, he is not for the people, only for himself and his hiding behind the curtain ilk.The passing of these bills without proper debate amounts to nothing but pure unadulterated authoritism.Only 45% of eligible voters voted in the last election, now we're going to pay the price, it's going to be a costly 4yrs. The rich get richer.

They do, when they get time, I think the city should have a designated clean up crew.Even the river trails are a mess with abandoned encampment garbage, like the Eramosa River Trail.
