The banks at the end of our driveway are at least 10 feet high and can't see anything until your vehicle is practically out on the road. We have a truck and still can't see over the banks. It is also bad at most intersections where there is no traffic lights you can't see vehicles coming either way and you keep creeping out and your vehicle is out on the road before you can see oncoming traffic. Snow plowing and bank removal has gone down hill. We should all be using snow machines if this continues.
Sault Ste Marie will become a ghost town. Our homes will be worth nothing because no one wants to move here if the Steel Plant has only a skeletal crew. We need other big businesses here to be able to survive as a city
Start dipping into your RRSP at 60 so you won't get dinged big time when you are 70. If you are saving it for your children/grandchildren start giving them some of it now so you can see them enjoy it while you are still alive.
What about the small businesses that are in some of these communities. They will be shut down for the day. People who need to work that day won't get paid and their pay cheque will be less. Most people need the money to pay bills and put food on the table. What about the gas stations they won't work. People will need to carry gas cans so they won't run out of gas before finding a gas station that has electricity along highway 17. Never thought about this did they.
How are seniors suppose to stay in their own homes when property taxes keep going up. Meanwhile industries and business get breaks. When taxes go up in apartment buildings the rent also goes up. Some people are on fixed incomes. It's either a roof over your head vs buying food, paying for heat/electricity. More homeless people on the streets now. Shame on this mayor and councilors for voting this in
What I don't like is when bikers are using sidewalks to bike and expect you to move off the sidewalks so they can continue riding or they bike so fast beside you on the sidewalks and spooks your dog that they lunge out at them because they got scared and they blame you for the action of your dog
We all complain about dogs being off leash and pet owners not picking up after their pets. What about cat owners who let their cats roam and use your yard as their washroom. These cat owners should also be held accountable for let the cats roam and not picking up their mess. I am tired of picking up cat waste and the their urine is strong. Along the front of our foundation of our house smells bad of cat urine and cat waste from a neighbors black cat that lives at the bend of Boundary Road towards Queen. We now have a large live trap set up to catch this cat and bring it to the Humane Society. They should have hefty fines when they pick it up.
The Ford government is following the things that Trump has been doing. The rich will get richer and the rest of us will be scrapping by just to make the rich richer.
Looks like people will be going on the back roads and through The community of Garden River. The back roads are not meant for a transport trucks. . They closed both sides of the highway? How are people going to get home or to work if you can't use the highway because of the closure on both sides of the divided highway. Good planning on this part and they don't know when it will be reopened.
Sometimes it is hard to pick up all of your dog waste especially when your dog has stress colitis and has very loose stools. I pick it up as best as I can without ripping out grass. Sometimes I have to use two bags but it still doesn't pick it up. This should also apply for dog walkers who walk their dogs within the city and especially during the winter. I am tired of picking up after other dogs who mess in my yard.
Nurses have been recommending this since the beginning when the staff to patient ratio increased. You can't give the quality of care the patients needs when you are assigned to more patients.
Dog feces bags are made of plastic and they are single use, are they going to ban that as well? What will we pick up the dog feces with if they do this.
What about crosswalks? How are people and children going to cross the road safely without being hit. There are elementary schools and a high school in the area as well as seniors. Nice job city. What will you do if a child, senior or anybody in that matter gets seriously hurt or killed. Hope we can use city hall for this if and when it happens. Enough of these studies.
