POLL: Under a third of readers want an early Ontario election

People must vote or we will end up with Ford once again. Only about 24% of people voted last time which is shameful. I wish people had to vote like in Australia and we wouldn’t have these low numbers electing our politicians.

I understand where you are coming from; however, do you think the encampments enhance our downtown core? Would you like Guelph to become a ghost town with closed up businesses and residents all shopping at malls around the city instead of utilizing the businesses and entertainment provided in the downtown core? If the encampments are left and allowed to grow our city will no longer be the vibrant city that it is capable of being. We absolutely have a homeless crisis that must be addressed but leaving the encampments in the downtown core is not the answer. We need creative, educated city planners to come up with ideas to respond to this crisis situation.

What a great Green Party Candidate Anne-Marie Zajdlik would be; however, the Federal Green Party is in a mess with inside bickering unlike Mike Schreiner’s Ontario Greens. I wish you good luck!

An early election could put Ford ahead of further fallout from the Greenbelt scandal and the ongoing RCMP investigation into the land grab.

Yes, it isn’t easy, especially for women running for office with all the vitriol thrown at them. She deserves our support.

Carney absolutely does not want Canadian companies to move to the US. Of course some in the UK will not regard Carney’s time as Governor of the Bank of England as productive years as Carney warned them about Brexit and how it would impact the economy and they chose to ignore his advice and vote for it. The clowns are running the circus in the US. Be very careful who you vote for!

I too am a retired teacher who taught in non A/C schools my whole career. It was difficult then but in 2024 with Climate Change temperatures, it is intolerable for both students and teachers. Do you think students can learn under these conditions?? We need a government which deems education is more important than beer and new roads!

I don’t know about you, but I enjoy receiving the “tax” rebate in my bank account!

Perhaps the Conservatives can finally announce a platform too!

What’s wrong with Trump besides his being a convicted felon, a misogynistic, who is a racist and liar - nothing if you want someone like that to be your president!

Aaron, I know that the government has made a short-sighted decision that will affect countless people who need help. My question is will Guelph receive a Homelessness and Addiction Recovery (HART) hub to replace the closing CTS site? It is too bad that you cannot face Doug Ford and explain how the government’s decision will impact you. I wish you good luck Aaron.
This is wonderful news and I hope that more music events take place in Guelph. Many public schools do not have music programs at all which is very sad. Music is not only good for brain development and language skills but also social skills. I saw the results firsthand with my students when I taught the Orff music program in various public schools.
