Great, positive story. The shipping terminals have become the "sleeper" drivers of Thunder Bay's economy - always important, but easy to overlook.

Best wishes to crew, captain and ship. Looks to have been an extremely stressful situation. Glad you are safe in Thunder Bay.

Congratulations to Ryden's for weathering the COVID-19 pandemic (with good humour), getting back on track, and having such optimism! Interesting to hear that "most of" the parcels that got stalled there during the pandemic have been picked up. :)

Great news. Our port is still the heart of our city - or at least one of several major organs!
Actually, we get together every week. :)

"We have the property appraised by an accredited appraiser, then the actual settlement offers are formalized. Those offers do have an incentive, and payments associated with that. So if someone chose to take a different option other than the voluntary settlement, those incentives would tend to drop off the table accordingly," said Hydro One Vice President, Sonny Karunakaran. Typical pressure tactics from a powerful industry that has ample funds and knows it can have its way. In a just society, laws would prohibit this tactic, and ongoing cases of public vs. private interest would have to go before the courts.
Glad to hear it was a success!
This sounds great!!
