They claim they have our best interest at heart, but when we need them most they pause parliament to protect themselves - our whole system is insane, we need massive political reform across all political parties.

When the idea was pitched to city council, all they talked about was revenue from the cameras. It doesn’t even make sense. On one hand they say, “don’t worry they will pay for themselves”. On the other hand they say, “it’s about deterring speeders”. But if they do their job, than revenue goes down…seems to me, they need people to speed or they won’t make enough to justify the expense. Speeding is a problem, but this is an illogical way to deal with it.

I struggle with the price tags on things like this - why are those of us working hard and making responsible decisions left to foot the bill for those who don’t? I know it is a complex issue and not everyone chooses homelessness or drugs etc. and mental health issues are also at play - but it seems a small segment of our population gets funding, initiatives, hand-outs, etc. and nothing seems to change!
