City staff oppose Westmount bid for office development, favour downtown

They can't seriously wonder why no one wants to be downtown when they refuse to fix the issues. To try and say it has to be downtown is appalling imo.

Sandra Barker: The supporters, much like Lloyd Atkins in his letter are more worried about Poilievre's tone of voice and demeanor than the destruction the liberals are causing in this country. The party is cro oked and nothing will change that. No one likes to admit they've been taken for fuels. If you watch Carney's 'state of the country' press conference you will have noted it's full of 'possibilities,, consultation, working hard and MOUs' with nothing accomplished but announcements and more announcements. Zippy do. The only thing being done at speeds we've never seen before are his censorship and control bills getting rammed thru with no debate or oversight. Oh and the funneling of taxpayers money to other countries of course, that's going on rather regularly as well as bonuses for all the jobs well done. We can't make this <verboten> up so here we are. Nice to see I'm not alone in my opinion of our reigning government.

Carol Lewis: Lay the blame for the state of this country exactly where it belongs for once! I'll give you a wee hint, it's not the U.S nor Trump's or even Ford's fault this country is falling and falling fast. You seem bent on blaming Conservatives for all our woes. "The US virus is infecting us" Good lord, it's never ending with you elbows.

How on earth can 11 special constables wind up costing 2.2 million dollars per year? Surely you can't be saying overhead would be a million + a year if you plan on paying these people 100k a year which is also outrageous imo. It's no wonder this city is in such a state with these kinds of brilliant ideas /s

Brian Snelgrove: When will you realize that Carney/Trudeau/the liberals caused most of your problems with the US in the first place? I'd bet we will have the same sorts of problems when he is gone, especially with this reigning government still in power. You poked the bear and he poked back. Carney is two faced when it comes to the US (and a lot of other things as well) and he's quite obvious about it. And finally, calling Trump a liar with no mention of Carney being the same is disingenuous at best

Please. If you don't see what's happening here with our reigning liberals, that's on you. Trump has nothing to do with the liberals ruling for their own benefit and not ours. They are getting pretty obvious about it now with the hiding of the blatant co r rup ti on and ramming thru censorship and more power bills without debate. Even the cbc panels are starting to notice what he's doing now and it's about time.

Al Hutchison: I'd say, considering the state this country is in, that no there are absolutely no educated decisions being made in Ottawa and not only re immigration. Anyone at all who thinks that the government buying condos that developers can't sell because they're too expensive is a good idea needs to have their head examined. Closely. The only right thing to do here is lower the prices and that's the only solution. Instead we have the feds saying the taxpayers should be bailing out the developers. We can't make this <verboten> up

And seems to enjoy enriching his friends and business partners at the same time. Even Trudeau wasn't as bad as this guy is turning out to be. Oh well, we are stuck with him now since he did manage to get a slightly smelly non elected majority. Now we get to watch and see just how much worse it's going to get. Huzzah!

Dave Mathers: I firmly believe the renamed YCJA should be a one time use only, that gives youth a chance to clean up their act and fly straight. Felony crimes should be judged as adults. If you are old enough to commit a felony you are old enough to pay the consequence. Mollycoddling young offenders is why we're in the boat we are in today.

Cut the fat from the top for a change? Cutting these sorts of jobs is absolutely unacceptable.

Only in Canada do we have a recession when we could have been one of the richest countries in the world. The state of this country is appalling

Not only Carney's, his cronies are doing pretty good as well. You'd be amazed at just how conveniently these people are connected to either him or his wife. Moose lays it out quite well imo but you can be sure none of the acolytes would go near his site to have a looksee for themselves
