Readers in Canada should be aware that the average US voter thinks differently than Canadians. A poll of what Canadians think of an American election has not proven very accurate. There are a lot more fundamentalist religious people in the US than in Canada. Health care in the US is very different than in Canada. People carry concealed guns in the US...legally. Abortion is a crime in many states. These differences will significantly affect an election in the US.
This survey shows signs of desperation by pollsters which reflects voter desperation. The main question on most people's minds is how do we get rid of the current government and can the new government give us back some of the financial and operational stability we had ten years ago.
It is not surprising how the disgust with the Federal Liberals has spilled over into the Provincial Liberals. The NDP are hardly a blip on the provincial radar screen but we keep sending them down to Queen's park to rant and rave but get nothing for Sudbury despite all the taxes we pay.
Costs taxpayers a billion dollars per year. Eliminate home delivery. Regional boxes already work in many areas. Go to twice a week delivery for residential mail. Slash management numbers.
Sure is a lot of paid Liberal bloggers in this commentary section. A lot we have never seen before. Reminds me of the bloggers that come out to defend China whenever they do dumb things. Maybe an interesting article should be an examination of the role of paid bloggers.
I hope Sudbury and area voters understands that if they re-elect local Liberals and the PC wins in Canada, then it is guaranteed that Federal subsidy money will disappear completely, not that Trudeau ever gave us very much.
Corey- My apologies..Bloggers don't get paid..you have to be an "Influencer" to get paid..like the ones they just hired. Keep at it and you too may get there...just like the "Arrive Can App" people.
JP Realtor - Crown corporations are expected to be profitable organizations, while others are non-commercial and rely entirely on public funds to operate. In the case of Canada Post, although they are a crown corporation, they are not expected to make money (which they never do). As a result of this taxpayers are expected to pay for any loss incurred by non-profit crown corporations, which we have. Money to finance a loss does not magically appear from space, unless you have a belief that Liberals can run a government.
My insurance company offered me a good discount if they could track my driving and I was a good driver. The feedback from the app has shown me how to be a better driver. For instance, instead of racing to the next red light, I drive slower and by the time I get there the lights have turned green a lot of the time. I also notice that on the drive from town back to where I live that the people who passed me are almost all sitting at the light when I get there. It is actually more relaxing to drive a bit slower.
Russia's economy will collapse this winter. The Saudis have given notice that they will drop their price of oil to reacquire market share starting in December. This will cut off oil income for Russia and an economic collapse will follow. Starving cold people will not tolerate Putin's antics much.
I like to wrap my green tomatoes in the flyers in the fall to help them turn red. I also bring the flyers to camp to help get the wood fire going. I sometimes read the Canadian Tire one.
