Two additional GO train stops in Guelph begin April 27

According to gotransit.com, these will be EXPRESS TRAINS between Kitchener GO and Union Station. These trains will NOT STOP at Acton, Georgetown, Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston or Mount Dennis GO stations.08:49 train departing Union Station to Guelph Central, arriving at 10:07 am and Kitchener GO, arriving at 10:26 am15:43 (3:43pm) train departing Kitchener GO. Guelph Central, 16:02 (4:02 pm), to Union Station, arriving at 17:17 (5:17p.m.)

Some corrections:The GUELPH departure times to Toronto are: 8:07 am and 4:07 pm and It arrives back from Toronto to Guelph at 6:18 pm and 12:18 amJoin TAAG and TriTAG as we celebrate this new service! We will be meeting up with transit supporters and others at the train building between 7:30 and 8:00 on Sunday.

These are the only slots CN made available for GO. More negotiations are needed to get more slots for more service.

Macdonell Street is closed between the Macdonell parking lot and the West Parkade, and Wyndham Street is closed between Carden Street and Cork Street tonight from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. so expect traffic delays. The Future Ready Plan is to make the transit system more grid like and somewhat more frequent, however, the budget is showing delays and cuts to the plan - a plan that is already too long, too late, and now out of date. Transit running slower than driving is a POLICY choice and we need to fight to make it better.

The fact that public transit takes longer than driving in our city isn't a coincidence—it's a direct policy choice made by City Hall, and we are the ones paying the price in lost time and needless congestion. When policymakers continually choose to dedicate billions to widening car lanes instead of giving our buses dedicated right-of-way or implementing transit signal priority, they are actively choosing to make our commute slow and unreliable. We must demand that City Hall stop prioritizing single-occupant vehicles and immediately implement transit priority measures and boost funding to make our public transport fast, efficient, and finally, faster than driving. Contact your councilor today and demand that transit speed becomes the #1 priority!
The system has record ridership, so there is demand but because it basically is built around the students, the rest of the city suffers,
