Everyone agrees that candy can & should be provided at these events but, throwing candy from moving open wheeled floats can and has resulted in tragedy. (read the whole story)Society is slow to learn but eventually does the right things to protect our children. Lawn darts - seat belts - car seats - hockey rink glass - school bus lights etc etc.
