His tariff tantrum is not done. You know he changes his mind on a dime. To think that he is done with them is to believe in fairies.

They include the National Post, the Montreal Gazette, the Ottawa Citizen, the Edmonton Journal, the Calgary Herald, the Vancouver Sun, the Toronto Sun, the London Free Press, the Regina Leader Post, the Prince George Post, the Airdrie Echo and 26 community papers. Oh my goodness. Robertson is a very highly respected journalist. He has been a senior editor, news anchor and is a host with W5. I doubt that you can find any other person who is as experienced and as respected as he is in matters of the news and politics. Tells us exactly what he “was making up” other than what bitter cons, who are panicking, wish was made up.

If Ford ever had the smarts and guts to actually ban them - by backing teachers 100% on removing cell phones and disciplining kids - it would work. He won't. He wants the teachers to be the "bad guys". He's a gutless chicken.

Oh my. Please educate yourself on the Canadian Parliamentary system. Not being voted in? You mean like Kim Campbell (so she’d take the fall for Harper), Joe Clark, John Turner, MacKenzie King (twice) and…….John A. MacDonald, Sir John Abbott, Sir Mackenzie Bowell? It’s very easy to check, and in fact, there was an article on it on City News written about by Michael Saab of The Canadian Press on March 9, 2025.

Not one kid under 19 "needs" an Iphone. An android is more than sufficient and costs much less for those in high school.A flip-phone is perfect if you are controlling that your child can only call and receive a few numbers on it that you have programmed.

@jinch1 Those immigrants and international students pay income tax on the money they earn, they pay sales tax on the items they buy - at the same rate as we do.International students must arrive with a proven minimum of $20,635 per year for living costs - that does not included tuition & books. The cost for international students for universities' tuition alone PER YEAR is averaged at $36 K for graduate students and $21K for undergraduates. (as high as $45k compared to $6,590K for Cdn residents.) For average college it's $17K to $29K. Mandatory books, tools, uniforms are all extra. Doug Ford was begging for immigrants and international students a very short time ago because there were thousands of jobs unfilled. If from out-of country and they don't have personal intnt'l health insurance (which is very expensive) they pay double the OHIP rate for healthcare. Avg. cost in 2022 was $323 for OHIP covered ER visit, so they pay $646.

That you Donald? We know that he would never, never help others but scams for his own use.

@silverhair & Big Daddy - It sounds like, for some reason, you jump to the conclusion that "everyone" who rents or wants affordable housing wouldn't be paying for a/c. Quite the accusation and completely wrong. The question has been raised for those landlords who refuse to allow window or portable air conditioners or any air conditioning even in public places.

Seriously, who ever came up with the pet owner questions for a political poll? The polling company is beyond credibility if they use this as a question. I’m surprised they didn’t ask what type of furniture cleaner you like.

@Legend Kindly give us the video of Dougie and the thief - in person - while dougie threatens him. I don’t know if anyone that has seen that firsthand evidence. All we’ve heard is Dougie running off his mouth as usual and wanting to sound like he’s a tough guy physically ( ha ha ha). I don’t think any store has confirmed that this has happened either.

Besides all of the possible spy wear and "shutting off" capability - which I can truly imagine might happen given China's history... I think they would be made of the cheapest material. I think that they would never meet our standards and would crumple like a tin can. Who would service these other than China's repair places - all set up to gather all info about you that they can plus charge exorbitant prices as the only ones that could fix your car. Not me. I'd never buy one. Toyota - yes, Honda - yes, ....any Japanese vehicle (even over North American) because they have proven to be trustworthy vehicles and good to deal with in all markets - not just automotive.

Dennis is correct. Refuse to pay. Trump has done that hundreds of times and apparently that makes him a great businessman. One of the reasons why Giuliani is in the financial mess he is in. Trump has only paid a small portion of the millions that he owes to Giuliani for all the legal work he did. It’s the same story for many other lawyers, contractors, builders, developers, suppliers, cities that held his rallies. …..

@WFQ It was Ford who made the rule but teachers are not allowed to discipline - per the board of Education - the one that Ford is over and decides what goes on in it. Here's the info you missed...."The Ontario Government, led by Education Minister Stephen Lecce, decided to implement a province wide ban on cellphones in classrooms effective for the 2024-2025 school year."Gr. K - 6 Phones must be silent and out of sight all day. Gr. 7 - 12 Phones are banned during class time although teachers can permit use for educational purposes. Enforcement: Teachers can confiscate phones if rules are broken, with exceptions for medical needs or special education requirements. "The problem is that the Boards of Education - UNDER DOUG FORD'S responsibilities - will not back the teachers when parents complain and they have gone as far as complaining to their MPPs and Ford. Then the teachers are directed, in fact ordered - from high above - to back off. If only Ford kept his word.

What small and short thinking. Do you really think that only those over 70ish now are going to be the ones that get dementia?

Wait - how many new government non-profit LTC homes with advanced care has Ford built since 2018? None - yeah, that's right. His mother-in-law was in an LTC Home - West Park in Toronto. Why wasn't Doug, his wife and girls looking after her themselves - they certainly had plenty of money to pay for care. Why wasn't his family kept at home to free up a bed for others?

@WFO - The whole point of not needing an Iphone is that kids in school do not "NEED" those capabilities, therefore you don't need an expensive android.

Humber River Hospital, the one to increase their performance the greatest, has always been Doug Ford's "go to" hospital because it was the one he used closest to his home in Etobicoke even before it amalgamated and it was Humber Memorial. He has made sure that money poured into it. No favouritism in Dougie. (;)I commend the organization and staff there but when untold money pours in from the government, you can achieve greater things. Meanwhile smaller hospitals have to close ERs due to staff shortages because he refused to pay nurses fairley all through COVID and beyond and they left to go elsewhere. Every single weekend there are closed ERs, which can mean that when you call an ambulance there, after it gets to you from a distance away, it may be an additional 45 minutes to get you to the ER. Last year there were 1,200 Emergency room closures!!! Expect that this year's total will be much greater. It affects us all as they transfer patients to other hospitals.

This from Wikipedia:"Andrew Jeremy Wakefield (born 3 September 1956 is an English fraudster, anti-vaccine activist, and former senior surgeon. He was struck off the medical register for "serious professional misconduct" due to his involvement in the fraudulent 1998 Lancet MMR autism study that falsely claimed a link between the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism."And the McCullough Report listed many, many POSSIBLE factors: " We found potential determinants of new onset ASD before the age of 9 years old to include: older parents (>35 years mother, >40 years father), premature delivery before 37 weeks of gestation, common genetic variants, siblings with autism, maternal immune activation, in utero drug exposure, environmental toxicants, gut-brain axis alterations and combination routine childhood vaccination." With the exorciated, banned Wakefield as part of the study. You would go to a banned heart surgeon - same thing.Post facts, not fraud.
