Closure of that dump cannot come fast enough. I blame all of these fires on the activists that have enabled this atrocity to continue for as long as it has.
Blame for this should be placed squarely at the feet of Judge Christopher HInkson...who legalized this encampment and protected the crime and misery that exists there.
Rustad was *checks notes* was in power from 2005 to 2017....and did nothing to address any of the chronic problems plaguing the forest industry. He is not going to do anything now other than drool at the mouth with the same old ideas that got us into this problem.
This is the way. Everyone howls about house prices, but everyone also overlooks the idea that few, if any of us, get our 'dream' home the first time. Buy small and work your way up.
Might as well just hand downtown PG over to the poverty industry. Business is booming for them. I'm seriously not joking...anytime there is a new tenant, it's almost always some sort of poverty industry business or service.
The term "poverty industry" typically refers to the network of businesses, organizations, and institutions that profit from the existence of poverty or from providing services to the poor. This can include payday lenders, pawnshops, check-cashing services, and other financial entities that charge high fees or interest rates to low-income individuals. It can also extend to industries that benefit from government welfare programs or charitable aid. Critics argue that this industry can perpetuate poverty rather than alleviating it, by exploiting vulnerable populations for profit.
They flew too high....wings have been clipped. Awful for those who might lose their jobs, but the diploma mill racket has had a disproportionate impact on services and housing.
