Everyone deserves a decent living wage! I find it appalling that politicians have no problem giving themselves a huge raise but are completely ok with their constituents living far below the poverty line. Can you imagine if OW, ODSP, CPP and minimum wage went up by 12% every time there was an election?

I believe this situation could have been avoided if the powers that be would stop talking about the housing crisis and actually do something about it! I also believe that the university should be responsible for housing the students they accept exorbitant tuition fees from!

Just another example of pure greed!

This is great news! Energy equity is a health issue. We have minimum heat requirements in the winter because we understand the risks of extreme cold. As temperatures continue to rise, we need maximum heat standards in the summer too. No senior, person living with lung disease, or vulnerable renter should be forced to suffer in unsafe indoor temperatures simply because they don’t own their home. Safe housing should protect people in every season.

I struggle with the so called “common sense” reforms, it seems common sense is not very common for Dofo!

Total waste of taxpayer dollars! There is nothing beautiful about people being unhoused no matter how you dress it, or choose not to address it!

We cannot keep saying there is “enough space” while vulnerable people are still suffering in extreme heat and cold. A shelter bed alone does not solve the deeper issues of trauma, mental health struggles, addiction, poverty, lack of affordable housing, and gaps in social services. If governments had properly funded housing, healthcare, mental health support, and prevention services years ago, we would not be seeing this level of crisis today. Closing City Hall as a heating/cooling space removes one more safe place for people who are already struggling to survive. Compassion and humanity should never be treated as optional.

Obviously poor people are not viable! Yet! What are we doing as a society when people can’t even afford to put a roof over their heads???????????????????? Disgusting! I guess we should be happy the policy makers are still talking about homelessness! Talk talk talk, no action! Disgusting!

Living in poverty takes its toll on mental, physical, and emotional health! The sad truth is that it’s legislated poverty! Heartbreaking 💔

This is absolutely in line with the ultimate goal! Pure and simple greed! It’s been happening for decades and we are now seeing the effects of the total dismantling of our society! We now have a complete divide, pitting the poor against the extremely wealthy! Divide and conquer is the perfect storm for war! Success has been achieved in complete dehumanization! Only the very wealthy can afford decent housing, food, and healthcare!
