While I 10000% agree the police service board needs more than just a shake up, we don't need to drop a bomb on the board and that's what would happen if she got her hands on that board. God only knows the mess she would have made on that board! She needs to step away from politics ideally, not expand her portfolio!

She is 100% accurate here! 100% new governance. There is clearly political interference from King Shoemaker, and we cannot forget he was a member of the police services board before AND he is a partner with the law firm that represents the police service. we need 100% new blood in there. The new chair also had involvement with police services when she was the city solicitor. Bottom line, out with all of the old, in with new!. Finally someone calling out the mayor publicly. I have to say out of all the city councillors Ms. Hollingsworth is one of the few that acts with integrity.

Are you kidding me… trying to hold his pay over this… Mayor Shoemaker as a civil lawyer working for a firm that specializes in employment law should be well aware that an employer cannot use punitive measures such as withholding pay as discipline against an employee. I understand that the city councillors are paid an honorarium so are not technically city employees but what kind of example is this setting, especially from a lawyer with expertise in this area. And what possibly does a forced apology do? Our city council needs to get back to city business and stop this ridiculous sand box dispute. So childish!

Please forgive me here but a previous article stated that almost 2800 members were going to suffer when the Y was scheduled to close, but now 2400 memberships demonstrate sustainability? HOW? Great Lukendas rushing in to help, everyone already had an idea it was them…. But are they really helping? Or just ripping the band aid off very slowly and wasting tax dollars in the process…. The financial statements speak for themselves, 2400 members is not sustainable… they couldn’t even get all their initial members back, what chance do they have of expanding their base to the additional 2700 needed by December? Fat chance that’s happening… time to call it quits

Of course this was the result… gotta keep the wall clear for Shoemakers photo… he just needs his throne and crown and then he’s the king of Sault Ste. Marie… clearly he doesn’t understand history, and perhaps the city would immediately remove the coat of arms behind the mayor in council as that was issued by the crown, and should immediately change the police badge which also was granted by the crown. Unbelievable…

I appreciate that he focuses more on solutions than trashing the opposition. 90% of what comes out of PP's mouth is criticisms with little solutions. I am also very concerned about PP's dictator style of leadership within his party. Pretty sad when the local candidates are muzzled by the party just in case they slip and say something thats not what PP's views are. Very Trump like. Not that I support the Liberal Platform more than 50% but Carney will at least lead the country in a democracy not become a dictator like our neighbours are going through right now.
